The demand for more realistic and challenging video games is ever increasing. Computer games are not just any more interactive, arcade type games. They now follow storylines that can be modified by the player.
They now involve complex strategies and tactics and they can be played by multiple players online. The sophistication and high demand for new games offer lucrative careers for would-be game developers. Aside from artistic creativity, developing computer games require technical skills, particularly in the areas of computer programming, 3D animation, and mathematics.
The passion for video games is also equally important to understand the market demands. Until recently, the computer game industry has been very strict in recruiting game developers. It required a minimum number of years of experience.
However, as the industry becomes more competitive, the number of skilled programmers becomes less available because of the restrictions. As a result, some new computer game companies are now hiring fresh graduates.
